Wanted to try some H1000 but can't find any. The Hornady edition shows an overall length way below what I'm loading to so I'm starting my ladder in the middle of load data.I'm a H-1000 guy but the 10th Edition Hornady Manual shows data for both RL-22 and IMR7828 for the ELD-X. Looks like RL-22 gets the highest velocity claim of 2900fps
at this point, you will probably be waiting until mid summer to get it - my local sportsman warehouse actually had it in stock this past fall.
I do the same thing when I'm loading longer than the book...usually start with the max. load and work down by .3/.4 steps (10 steps for a total of 3-4 grains below max.) to figure out my starting load on the higher capacity cases.
+1 Amen to that.my gun definitely prefers H1000 for heavy bullets (and I think there is no point in a .300WM unless you are throwing heavy for caliber bullets.)
