I am starting to collect old military weapons, I like to hand load for most every thing that I own. Can I use the same .311 bullets for both 303 British, and 762.54R. I am loading the 303 at present but have not set up for the Russian as yet, anyone have any advice?

With a few rare exceptions, .311 bullets work great in 7.62x54R guns. There are some Finnish rifles that have barrels with .308 groove diameter, but if you're shooting run-of-the-mill Russian/Chinese/Romanian/Polish/Hungarian/etc. rifles and carbines, the .311" jacketed bullets shoot well. Cast bullets are a slightly different story.

Thank you Matt, just unpacked my first 3 Moisin-Nagants today, I purchase 100 rounds of PPU jacketed reloadable ammo, as soon as I strip the weapons, I will fire them and save the brass. Any hints on the type of dies an source of brass for the Russians, I'm using RCBS with neck sizing for the 303.

I use an RCBS neck die along with a Lee 3-die set. If I'm careful and keep track of which of my mosins the case was last shot in, I neck size it only. If the brass gets mixed up, I'll FL size it but I try to avoid that.

Prvi-Partizan makes pretty good ammo, and their brass is as good as other standard brands. They have an extensive line of ammo which include many hard to get calibers.

You certainly run into more out of spec chambers in 303 Enfields than you do Mosins, but both benefit with neck sizing dies. I have Lee FL dies for my two M44 Mosin carbines, and nearly 80 rounds of PPU ammo to shoot. I have Sierra 174gr .311 in stock to load.
