.303 for moose

will a .303 brit handle moose out to 200 yards with 174 grn, woodleigh weldcore.? or should i finally buy a new rifle ? maybe a 7mm rum. or maybe 7mm stw.
any ideas/
i would like something i can still use for deer but wont break my sholder either not that i cant handle it i just dont want it.
thats why i like the old .303

Sure will. I'll bet more moose have been killed in Canada in the last century with the 303 Brit than any other.

Shoot them through the lungs and they will die within 30 yards. Shoot them any where else with any other magnum and who knows how far they will go or if you will find them. They do not react to shock, but they do react to loss of blood and no oxygen in that the die.
