Just wanted to see if anyone out there has any experience loading .308 cal. 110gr. v-max bullets for a 1-10 twist barrel, and if it turned out good. Seems like a fast twist for that light of a bullet, but i'd like to try it in my Lar-8. If I can get them to fly good they'll probably sound like a sledge hammer when the hit a coyote.

I'm shooting a Savage 11 w/a 1-10 sporter bbl using the Speer 110sp. I haven't been able to call in a coyote yet but the bullet is accurate. I haven't shot for groups but I can hit a 2liter pop bottle of water @ 200yds and you definately hear the whop when it hits, needless to say in rains in all directions for a second.

I got turned on to this by a friend a while back. He had a bolt action and I shoot a DPMS LR 308 with a 1 in 10 twist. I can get 3/4" 5 shot groups at 100 yards using 47 grains of H4895. I have no idea how fast they go but they're moving and they cycle the auto action perfectly. Surprisingly they group lower at 100 yards than the 168 grain match bullets that I shoot out of the same gun:confused: which is opposite of what I thought it should be.
