i need to feed my 2a enfield and i can find and ammo!!!

so far all i have found is some indian for .50 cents a pop

some south african for 70 bucks plus per battle pack

and of course some lithuanian for 110 per battle pack

god back in november i got some pakistani that i was happy with but now i cant find any of it

is there any sensibly priced .308 nato left?

Nope. Supplies are limited right now. I'm kicking myself for selling off 2,000 rounds of Agentine and South African a while back.

FYI, it's either 7.62x51 NATO or .308 Winchester, but it's not "308 NATO."

Except for Lithuania, none of those countries are now nor ever were part of NATO. In any case, the days of inexpensive surplus ammo, of any kind, are over.

sunray

yeah but still u would think u could get something for less than fifty cents a pop

man i can shoot .30-30 for cheaper than some surplus .308

It's even hard to find brass for reloading at the moment cause of the upcoming September price hikes.

I agree though, reloading is the way to go.

well i am 17 and we dont have a garage so i really dont have cash or the place to set up a reloading setup

anyone seen any of the pof 7.62 around?

I was going to suggest Silver Bear ammo, but looking again, it looks like that's gone too! This stuff is going fast! I'm glad I just bought 7000 bullets and 3000 brass for reloading :)

You could try Barnaul, 37 cents a pop at http://ammunitiontogo.com

BTW, the bullets I got (Hornady 150 gr bulk) are now gone too!

ive looked b4 and wondered if i can shoot lead cast bullets out of my 2a

that would save me alot of cash

or will i have to buy bullets

well the way i figure i will do high quality ammo for hunting

but for killing paper commies i want to shoot very cheaply lol

so really i need to buy primers lead/projectiles brass and powder

I never had a garage, and loaded thousands of rounds of ammo.....
Find a friend that reloads, and learn!!!
I think the best book is Lyman....they been making reloading tools since my great grandfather was born.......and know their stuff....
Read it!
School was good for something....

The cheapest I've found recently was Barnaul from Wideners. I got 1000 rounds shipped for $0.35/round. If you don't have a lot of brass yet I would be surprised if you could reload for less. The Barnaul web site lists the muzzle velocity as 2750 ft/sec, which is in line with NATO spec 7.62. Wideners still has a lot of that ammunition. I haven't shot any of mine yet, so I can't speak for its quality. Good luck.

Jer..

update: from the Barnaul web site, the maximum pressure for their 7.62x51 (.308 Win) round is 42400 psi, which is below NATO spec. I believe this is the cartridge Wideners is selling. Barnaul also has a "military" 7.62x51, which has a max pressure of 52000 psi, which is maybe a little over NATO spec. Might want to call and confirm if you decide to go that route.

thanks alot i think next time i go to the range im gonna scroung thru the brass and start picking up brass to reload

can i reload he barneul?

i have a birth day coming up on the second so i may have a decent ammount(double m intentional ammo-unt hehehe) of cash coming my way

Barnaul will be steel cased and berdan primed. It can be reloaded in theory but is probably not worth the effort. Now is not a good time to get into the .308 game. I have 4 FAL's and 1 G3 to feed, I really miss the days of 1k of port for $140 shipped from AIM. I've started reloading recently and it still works out to be $.20 a round w/ surplus bullets, cheap powder and free brass.

BTW, what computer classes are you taking? I'm starting to miss my college days of programming in C++ and Java...

welll i got my 2a enfield back in november so i came in right at the end of less than .50 around ammo

i dont feal like paying 15 bucks a pop for nato spec us ammo so i think i may start to reload

im actually still in high school so they are some what simple but next year will be my senior year and i am taking networking(cisco) but this year i am taking drafting which is cad(computer aided design), graphics one(computer graphics design) and cet2(computer engineering technology) cet is like an intro into a computer repair
