.308 or .310 for an SKS

I have an AR-15 with a Ballistic Advantage barrel on it. It hates 308 bullets. And that's with 168 and 155gr SMKs along with some bulk 150gr FMJs. Of all the bullets I've tried, the Hornady V-Max has been the most accurate out of it. That's with AA 1680 powder and IMI brass. Heck, the bulk 310 FMJs that I bought from Golden West Brass has been on par with the hunting bullets from Sierra and Hornady.

Be careful... If you are buying brass case ammo. Some of it is Berdan primed. Otherwise I do reload some of the steel cases as I have a good supply of Berdan primers in the correct size for x39.

From what I understand from people who shoot Mosins, AK's, and similar, it doesn't really matter whether you shoot .308 or .311 unless your bore is well-worn. Many peoples' Mosin handloads are based around .308 bullets. Shoot whatever you want, and don't worry about it.

Twmaster, where the heck do you get Berdan primers here in the US?

I've got a Yugo AK and shoot pulled 150g fmj .308s (30-30 load data) in it all the time. At 100 yds its very accurate and one of these days I'll load up some soft points and try it deer hunting.
