I just started loading up some federal cases w winchester primers w my rcbs hand primer and on about 1/3 or more of the cases the primers just would NOT go in. Most of the rest were fine but a few of the ones that did go in took so much pressure that they're a bit flattened. It looks somewhat like a flattened primer from overpressure but they haven't been fired, it's from all the pressure needed to seat them.
I'm wondering if it would be safe to shoot these rounds? I attempted to SLIGHTLY bevel the pockets with a razor knife and that somewhat helped but not much. I ordered an RCBS pocket uniformer. Do you think that would help? Really I'm wondering if these few slightly smushed primers will be safe to shoot.
Thanks
