Anyone shot any of this stuff before? Just wondering if it has any practical use, aside from novelty. Thanks :)

Accurate with little or no recoil. Sizzle for close quarters use. 11-grain plastic projectile. Brass head (DAG headstamp). Accurate up to 320 yds. Ideal for indoor ranges. Non-corrosive, non-reloadable with lead-free primer.

Note: Will NOT cycle in semi / full auto guns. Has to be manually changed. Approx. Muzzle Velocity: 4,400 F.P.S. Muzzle Energy: 472 ft.-lbs. 50 rds. / box.

I bought a case of that ammo and the specific bolt carrier group for the G3. I had jams and misfeeds and all sorts of woe.

Be forewarned that the case heads are smaller than .473" as standard 308 is. I guess the Germans did this so that you wouldn't mistakenly load a full house 308 and use the modified plastic ammo bolt carrier group (sans locking rollers) for a catastrophic experience.

I don't know whether a standard 308, say a bolt actioned rifle, will feed or extract this ammo.

I picked up 500 hundred rounds cheap for my Spanish Mauser and Ishapore Enfield. It shot fine but was only good to 50 yards in light wind and 100 if there is no wind. I got them after a long dry period with ammo and it was all I could find. If needed I would use it again but I prefer regular rounds which goes without saying.

Shot a bunch of its 5.56mm counterpart -- good stuff for use in the shoot house. Real enough to make guys live right in the training, but doesn't tear up wooden shoot houses.

If the 308 is like the 556 the rim is rebated so you have to use a special bolt.

I have a case but have not shot it much. Its very quite with no recoil. When I first shot it I thought it was misfiring, but you can just not hear/feel it fire. Some of the cases get stuck in mine, but was out of a match 308 rifle that may have a tighter chamber. Its difficult to imagine it being accurate out far. Need to try it again to see. May be great for squirl hunting with your 308.

Quiet? Wow. Your experience and mine are very different. I remember the blast and the muzzle flash was quite pronounced!

ive also seen some training ammo with wooden bullets, i cant imagine that ammo being very good, either. :barf:
