This has been my deer and F-Class load for several years. By coincidence this combination is also in Nosler's online reloading data as their most accurate load combination as well.

150gr Pet loads anybody??

I just bought some Hornady SST 150gr bullets and I am looking for a load for my Rem 700 SPS .308 26" heavey barrel.

Any accurate 155gr Hornady SST loads with Varget?

Any accurate 155gr Hornady SST loads with Varget?

Shooting a 26 inch heavy barrel Rem 700 SPS Varmint .308.

thanks

ROA, I just got the same rifle and have installed a Nikon Monarch UCC
5.5-16.5X44 AO scope. I haven't tried any of the powders you listed. I've shot TAC, AA-2520, and AA-2460 with 165gr Hornady BTSP's and 150gr Sierra sp's. I've found best results with AA-2520 and 165gr Hornady bullets
but this rifle doesn't seem to be picky.I've shot about 50 3-shot groups and none have been over 1.2 inch. Some have been cloverleafs. I have some 125gr Speer TNT's loaded up but havent had a chance to shoot them yet. I think you'll be pleased with your rifle. (I've used MagTech 9 1/2 LR Std primers because they're all I have.)

44.5 grains of Varget pushing a 168 grain A-Max is my favorite .308 load. Substituting a 165 grain Hornady Interlock for hunting opens the group up slightly but not much if any over an inch. The A-Max bullet is well under an inch in five shots. The A-Max isn't really a hunting bullet but I've found it does a fine, fine job of dispatching coyotes from afar.

I use whatever commercial cases are handy, CCI 200 primers and COL is 2.815 for my rifle.

I guess I'm the oddball on powder, but I'm having great luck with :

168 gr Matchking
42.3 grains H-4895
COL = 2.790
Remington Case, Remington Primer

These are shooting 1" at 100 yards very consistently, If I were a better shooter, they'd probably do a 1/2".

125gr Speer TNT 2.75" OAL LC case, WLR or Rem primer (M1A Supermatch, 1:12)

42.5gr IMR4895, 43.5gr IMR4064, 45gr Varget. Really, I haven't found a combination that shot worse than great.
