30mm to 1 inch adapters?

Has anyone out there ever used 30mm to 1 inch scope ring adapters? I aquired a few sets of fairly expensive 30mm scope rings and as we all know 30mm scopes are pretty pricey. The 30mm rings were free so I'm not out any money. I have a nice 1 inch tube scope already and really don't need another so I'm considering buying a set of adapters? Any input good or bad is welcome.

Seems I saw IOR adaptor rings somewhere... maybe it was Cactus Tactical...

Aren't they usually proprietary to the company that makes the rings?

For instance...

LaRue has adapters available for LaRue Mounts. IOR Valada has inserts for IOR Valada mounts, etc.

I'd go the the website for the company who made my rings to see if inserts are available. If not, I suspect you are out of luck-- or may get in a situation where you do not have a solid, optimal fit.

1+. if the company that sold the rings doesn't sell adapters, you are in trouble. (unless you find another brand that fits as well)
