If anyone has a 31 caliber revolver and can measure the chambers, or has done so, can you post the measurements please? I am working up a 31 calibe version of the 36 and 44 belted wad cutter design and it should drop into most chambers (the 31 Remmie and Colt) and then the belt should shave lead

My ASM Wells Fargo model chambers measure .313". I load it with Double Ought buckshot that measures .330". The balls shave a nice lead ring and I'm happy with the performance of the buckshot.

.315s are loose in my uberti chambers. .320 make a good fit and I believe I have used .322 without any problems. Tapping a lead cylinder into the chambers, I come up with .318-.319. while some nominal .320 balls I have do actually measure .320 even though some "experts" consider caliper measurements to be lacking in the precision needed to slug and measure chambers/ bores. Uberti chambers usually are a bit larger than Pietta or armi-sport regardless of caliber.
