No. All copper is longer as it is less dense than lead. I see very deep seating depth or mag fitting/feeding problems. Best to go with 130 ish or lighter grain lead core bullets

If you're going to use a lead free bullet in x39 I would suggest trying to find one somewhere around 110gr or so and using data for bullets in the 147-154gr weight range.

I used 123-129 grain for that caliber, bolt and semi auto, and had good luck. There's a number of excellent bullets out there - i had best luck with Hornaday 123gr spire point and powder coated cast lead 129gr NOE slugs.

Those are expensive bullets and like said they are long. Why not find a good 123gr bullet?

What are you using the ammo for? We can help you pick a bullet better if we know what you are doing?

This, plus, .310 is sufficient diameter for AK's. the .311's are for Enfields, 7.7 Jap, and non-Finnish Mosins.

Thank you gentlemen, I should explained myself a litte more. I have a lot or reloadable brass in 7.62x39. My thought was if I can load it cheaper than buying steel cased ammo, I`d start reloading and only shooting my reloads. That way I can save steel cased stuff I already own. If I can reload for .15 or less, it makes sense for me to do so. Steel case is around .20-.21 delivered.

You can reload for much better accuracy, that is the main reason to go reloading. 7.62x39 can be accurate if you have an accurate rifle. AK depends! My VZ2008 is accurate but it is not exactly an AK!

Actually, that's how I got into reloading 7.62x39. A bunch of my friends and I were shooting at a buddy's farm, and all of us had SKS's or AK's. We ran through what we brought, so we went to the LGS, who had a case of Lapua. It was $6.00 a box vs. the $2.99 most shops had Tula for at the time. We bought all of it, and shot it up. I was the only one who reloaded, so I kept the brass. (The ones we found. His kids were finding them for years, due to the SKS's launching them into near orbit,,,.) I picked up a set of Lee dies, and loaded them up. Most got FMJ bullets, but I did load up some with SP for hunting, and sighted in. My SKS's are both gone, but I have an AK, and my younger son hunts with it, and my reloads.

No. I've used .311 bullets in 7.62x39mm for years in a ROMAK, Yugo SKS, vz-58, (the CzechpointUSA one), and my beloved CZ 527M/CSR. Now to be fair, most of the bullets I use in .311 are cast lead, sized to .311 in a Lee push-through sizer when I add on the gas checks. The Hornaday 123gr are .310, but I have used plenty of .3105 bullets as well. Also, the LeHigh Defense Controlled Chaos, (heck of a name, isn't it?), and the excellent Berrys plated 123 grain bullets, both made for 7.62x39mm, are also .311. I got really good results from the Berrys, kept to decent velocities. :) The 527M/CSR shot a 2 inch group at 300 yards with them...once. No, I never, ever tried to do that again.
