For those of you with experience with both or either of the above guns, how would you compare the snub-nosed offerings of S&W and Taurus. Please, don't turn this into another "Taurus only makes junk, go with the Smith" threads (unless you actually owned a .32 H&R mag Taurus- I don't care about your .38 Taurus made in 1982).
Thanks,

David

I have no experience with the Taurus snub, but I do own a S&W 432PD (the one without the laser grips).

I've been very pleased with my 432PD so far. Fit/finish is good, and for a snubby it's very accurate. I really like the Hogue rubber boot grip that it comes with. The trigger is typical S&W J-frame trigger, which is to say OK, but not fantastic. However, I've only put about 500 rounds through it, so the trigger my improve more with time, and I can't yet speak knowledgeably about the 432PD's long term durability. The recoil from Federal's 85gr JHP HI-SHOK's out of the 432PD is about on par with a standard pressure .38 special out of a all steel S&W 640, that is to say very managable. Hope this helps.

Thanks nero! I'm looking very hard at both the S&W and the Taurus. I love collecting old S&W's, and I've had a great experience with my Taurus 85 titantium (very accurate for its type gun, shoots to point of aim, although it is punishing to shoot like all Airweight/Ultralight types are.
I asked a similar question not long ago, but was hoping to get more responses this time as I get closer to a purchasing decision.
Thanks,

David
