Does anyone have an older book that might possibly have some load data for these two? Gun is a S&W I frame, 4".

I currently have Titegroup, Win231, a little bit of Bullseye and WST along with Universal. Not looking for hot loads, just for range plinking fun. The bullets in question are lead from the forerunner of Xtreme: Western Nevada West Coast Bullet

TIA!

I had to dig up data for 32 S&W (Short) a couple of years ago! Had to work from cartridges of the word and some other non-standard source...

I would think most of those fast powders are good candidates. I'll try to remember to check my notes this weekend for you.

I do. I will dig it up when I get home. FWIW the RN just don’t have much punch. The SWC are better, but for 32swl you really can’t even touch a HBWC. Is your gun marked as a model 30 or is it a pre-30?

My son & wife use the 32 S&W Long for Cowboy shooting, using the Baby Vaquero's. I loaded between 2.0 to 2.5 gr Bullseye with a 95gr SWC. Recorded velocities ranged from 750fps to 840fps

Current load is 2.3gr Bullseye with a 95gr SWC.

It's an I frame 5 screw, no model number

Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook has 3 grains of Bullseye for a 75 grain bullet. Hodgdon has a 90 grain SWC load using Titegroup, 1.9-2.1 gr.

I must have grabbed the wrong book. One of my books has other data, but it’s not quite as peppy.

.32 S+W Long
Lyman 50
75gr Lead RN
Start MAX
Bullseye 1.5 513fps 3.0 958fps
231 2.0 677fps 3.5 1043fps

Hodgdon's web site has data for a 90 SWC and 98gr WC but no 95 SWC using Universal, HP38 and Titegroup.
So I would think 95 SWC would be less than a 90 SWC and more than the 98 WC
Not much difference between the 2 for HP38 or Titegroup .1gr on the MAX more spread on the Universal loads.

I would email Hodgdon and ask if they have have any data for 75s.

A friend of mine who has a .32 S+W long likes AA#2 because it meters really well when throwing small .32 size charges.

does well with bullseye too but that one isn't listed anywhere I have found other than some shady online sources.

If you like heavy lead, Magtech DEWC are good but their package of 100 usually only contains about 90. I'm still looking for a good source for other heavy DEWC. Not too many offerings over 100gr.

Not too sure my old I frame can handle anything but lighter loads. It IS fun to shoot, about as much recoil as a .22lr

Thanks to all for the data!

It's good stuff, very accurate in .32 Long and meters perfectly. N310 is just as accurate and meters nearly perfectly as well. N-310 is a bit quicker and less forgiving at the top (Bit me in the butt in .38 S&W). Use both sparingly in .32 Long and old revolvers. I have shot them side by side with the Berrys and cannot shoot any difference if there is one. (Different charge weights)

WST is another very good choice, very accurate, lightly colored/easy to see, meters very well.

I'll be traveling the same road soon. For years now I have not been able to get the Berrys 83 Gr DEWC I have been using, so I bought some coated 98 Gr DEWC-BB from Missouri Bullets.

I have used other styles, but settled on the Berrys 83 Gr WC for .32 Lon and .32 Mag plinkers. I have an auto in .32 Long and it needed WCs seated flush. Shoots great in everything. Sure wish they would make another run of them.

I'll drop my charge weight from the Berrys and do some testing with the MB coated WC.

I had a hard time finding decent cast lead bullet information on the 32S&W Long.

I looked through my reloading manuals and did not find any significant information on the 98 grain bullet and the 32 S&W Long. If there was data, it was with Bullseye. The bullets I used were commercial cast, and were two grain heavier than 98 grains, the difference is inconsequential for me. The bullet is a round nose with a flattened tip. I chronographed factory ammunition as a guide. I found factory equivalent ammunition (2.25 grs Bullseye) to be so mild that after shooting 1000 rounds of it, I shot 1000 rounds of 2.5 grains Bullseye. Nothing evil happened to my pistol, that is still a very mild load, and my next 1000 rounds that I loaded are 2.7 grains Bullseye. I have not chronographed that load, I expect it will come out around 800 fps.

Three grains of Bullseye produced a sharp recoil in my revolver. While cases fell out, I just did not want to deal with the recoil.

Unique had potential, but I found that Bullseye worked good enough.
