Well today it was snowing... I am out of WV doe tags to fill so I decided to take a trip to the range to shoot my (not so new anymore, but still new) Traditions Crockett.
After trying 10 and 20 grains of Pyrodex P, Lee home cast round balls and homemade patches from WalMart Pillow ticking soaked in Bore Butter... I was rather disappointed... groups of 2 and 3 inches at 25 yards. I decided to try 15 grains and split the difference.
Now she splits hairs.
At 25 yards, I was shooting consistant 5 shot groups that I could cover with a quarter. Occasionally, Id get the group spoiling flyer (me) that would open it up to an inch or so.
This winter, after the gun seaons have died out and its wood gathering time... squirrels look out, because I think Ill be taking ol' girl with me.
Just wanted to fill everyone in...
