I have decided to try my hand at building a rifle and it looks like the Stevens 200 might be the most economical action to build on. I have read that Savage has used several thread sizes for their barrels. Would an Adams & Bennett barrel fit the Stevens 200 in 30-06 or other long action based on the'06? Also, the 338-06 A&B barrel is not currently available but the 338 Federal is. Would it be possible to use this barrel and ream it out to the 338-06 AI specs? I would have to ream whichever barrel I start with anyway.
