I love my .45 colt with Buffalo Bore or a similar load, if you load your own, no problem, the .357 will do it, just use a good load, good shot location, low recoil compared to the .45 or .44 mag.
I load that one, too, very good powder/bullet combination and very accurate. I shoot it from my 6.5" Blackhawk and with irons at 100 yards, can fill a paper plate from a field rested position.
I carry a 4" .357 as a back-up when hunting hogs and I have gone to it for my primary gun if we got into heavy brush. No worries... it will get it done. I also vote for loads using bullets that are 158gr or more.
