I am looking for some data for 357 magnum loads with 190gr hunters supply cast bullets. I have worked up a few loads that seem safe, but would like some input from people who have more experience with that weight. A charge of 12.5 gr of h110 gave me right at 1000fps. This seems pretty low for a 6inch barreled revolver, and I assume part of that may be from the fact I used non-magnum primers. I have gotten my hands on some magnum primers and have begun working on a load again after not messing with it for a few months. I was very pleased with groups of .8inch at 35yards with the 12.5 gr of h110, and think with a better rest and more brass prep that could be improved.
Does anyone have a pet load? I am loading for a mix of power and accuracy as this is a hog hunting gun, and if the opportunity on a short range shot on a deer arises while carrying it, I'll take it.
