I was given some Bullseye Powder and never loaded much of it. I was wondering is I could make a mid-range 357 with a 150 grain 358477 and around 5.5-6.0 Bullseye that might be safe and accurate.
Anyone done this? how did it work?

It would be better in 38s. The extra case capacity may cause high SD but it's really fast for a mag powder.

It's definitely woth a try.
"40 years of loading for the .357 has shown that the best ballistic uniformity and accuracy often comes with the faster propellants and velocities about 150 fps slower than theoretically possible." - Ed Matunas, Guns magazine, August 1993.
The article lists many loads with several different bullet weights, and every bullet weight includes a load using Bullseye.

I haven't tried it, but there is no reason it shouldn't work for light loads.

Alliant PDF won't upload, too big, but it has data for Bullseye in .357 Mag. I imagine it's still available on their website.

I'm also interested in answers to the OP's question. I would like to try moderate loads using Bulls Eye under a 158gr RNFP. I have a couple of pounds of BE. I don't have any .38 special brass (or want any),only 357.

I have shot hundreds of 357s loaded with Bullseye. Be careful of double charges. Look each case over with a good light to be sure levels are uniform before seating bullet. I much prefer Unique for mid range loads, however.

I reloaded a lot of Bullseye in 357 Mag handloads (also 44 Magnum). I just started with my manual's min. and worked up. Mostly pre-web
and before I got a chrony. I doubt if any loads were much more than mid level, and no leading to speak of. Worked OK for me.

it works fine. But never tried it with a heavy bullet. been using light BE loads in 357 case with a 125 lead bullet for many thousands of rounds with zero issues. knocks them out around 800fps all day long.

231 is a great powder or another powder variant in that class is what you're going to be looking for.

Personally, for mid range 357 I switched to right around 7gr BE86. love that stuff.

Fellows, with your guidance I loaded 6 rounds with 150 grain 358477 bullet over 5.7 grains Bullseye in a 357 case. They shot real nice and were accurate, well accurate for this old man. Didn't set up the chrony but they felt similar to my 6.5 grains Unique loads. I believe that they will take down a surly rattlesnake or badger if needed to.
Thanks for your patience and help.
