Hello,

I am going to start loading .357sig and in my reloading manual it says to use a .355 bullet. In one manual it even states .3555 as the spec bullet diameter. When I go to buy bullets, all of the inexpensive options like Berry's Plated are .356. Is .001 or even .0005 really going to make a difference here? If I have to use .355, I'm going to have to buy actual FMJ expensive projectiles and this is just for plinking/practice. I'm thinking the .356 Berry's will swage down but I know this is a high pressure cartridge.

Thanks guys!

I've loaded and shot approximately 10,000 of the Berry's 124 grain FP bullets in 357 Sig through my Springfield XD and Witness. Those are very good bullets for this caliber, as long as you don't drive them over about 1,250 fps. If you over drive them, they'll tumble. They are .356" in diameter and work just fine. I've also used some of the 115 grain FP Berry's plated bullets and they work good, too, but I prefer the 124 grain for 357 Sig.

Just be sure to order either flat point or hollowpoint bullets, as round nose won't work in this caliber.

Hope this helps.

Fred

Check out Montana Gold and their .357 Sig bullet. Only thing I'll use in mine (unless I run out). Good bullet and designed just right with a longer-straight side for the bottlenecked .357 Sig.

Berry makes a good bullet, but can't be driven at high speeds. With a .357 Sig one 'needs' the high speed.
