Ithaca, and Remington, are still up and running making Model 37s and 870s respectively

The hades you say??

I have not seen a new Ithaca on store shelves in a coon’s age. I wonder how current quality is? I imagine they must not be making many of these shotguns as I haven’t heard of new Ithaca’s being made much less seeing them in a shop.

Id take the mossberg with a normal stock because I prefer their safety. The 870 with a pistol grip, because the Mossberg safety sucks for a pistol grip. The 37 is a fine hunting shotgun but would be a good ways down my list. Benelli, Browning, winchester (12) , maybe even HI standard flight kings would be before the 37 in my book.

Im a shotgun collector. But like others said, I wouldn't carry a shotgun on a stroll unless I'm hunting for fowl or rabbit or squirrel.

Last I heard (it's been a little while), high quality Model 37s were being made in Sandusky, Ohio and were fetching very high prices for an, albeit, very nice and expensive to manufacture pump shotgun.
