Hey Rexrider,
I just called my local Big5 and whola!!! They have them. I'm going to have to question the dude at the other place on his quote next time on in. But, Big5 will have to order one from their distribution center, but I'll get it by the time my 10-day waiting period is up. Plus I got them to sell it to me at their sale price @319.
Guess I'm off to Big 5 after work. thx again to all for the the posts....

Outstanding !

Happy to hear they found one for you and at sale price no less.

Enjoy your new rifle. I am sure you will be happy with it.

Cheers
Rexrider

Even though I own an 1894C (and a 336, and a 39A), I am wondering why nobody has suggested the 39A for a plinking/practice companion to a 336.

You can shoot a whole lot of .22s compared to any of the center fire alternatives.

Both my 336 and 39A wear XS ghost ring sights, and the 1894C has a Williams 5D.

If you want a pistol caliber lever action get a rifle desigined for pistol ammo lenght ammo (Win 92 ect..) And get it in .357 mag so you can use .38 specials. Short actions just opperate so much quicker for me.

But my first choise in a long lever action WOULD be .375 Win, a .375, 250 grain bullet @ 1850 fps is very good medicine.

The .375 Win is the old 38-55 Win loaded to modern pressures.
