... i use a 8mm mauser dies to open the case mouth up the the die to finish expandng

IF I wasn't a bolt gun guy, my ideal repeater for what you describe would be a Rem 760 or 7600 pump in either .358 Win, or .35Whelen with a 20" barrel and low power variable scope.

I know Remington chambered the Models 760 and 7600 in .35 Whelen (and .35 Remington) but I don't think they ever produced one in .358 Winchester. A great rifle/carbine for wild boar in heavy cover (if you can find/afford one) would be a Savage Model 99 lever-action "Brush Rifle", chambered in .358. Mine has an old Redfield "Widefield" 2 3/4x5 scope on it and, imo, this setup is about as good as you can configure for hunting whitetails and black bear in the cedar swamp habitats commonly found in states like Maine and Michigan, where I've hunted.

Or just buy 375 Win brass

Before I "settled' for my .350Rem Mag I scoured the gunshows and stores for a used WIN 88, Savage 99 or BLR in .358Win for my western WA elk gun. Unfortunately the folks that had them recognized the value and didn't part with them. Other than spite, I have no idea why Remington didn't chamber either the 760 or 7600 in .358W.

I'm pretty sure the 7600 was offered in .35W, but not the 760, at least that's what I've read. The 760 was offered in .35Rem. I swear IF I can find a 7600 cheap enough I will have one done in .338 Federal. I've checked gunbroker multiple times and the 760s and 7600s are going for stupid prices now. Add to it rebarreling or re-boring and it's an expensive prospect.
