what year did smith and wesson stop producing the K frame in 38 smith and wesson? Ive seen the 1970s as the date, but ive seen some examples from 1980 on online gun auction sites.

Also, what would the typical value for one be these days?

I cant remember if ive asked it before, but would a sp101 have sufficient chamber walls if bored out to .38 S W?

Like you, I have seen examples from the '70's, but not really sure. I do really like the 38S&W and if you want to push the envelope, they can be loaded up into the low 900's for velocity. This makes them a great carry or home defense load.

However, I wouldn't advise it in the earlier models, like mine.

I keep mine in the 750 fps range and let my wife have it for SD or carry in her purse. I have the old Regulation Police, built on the I frame with a 4" barrel and it is a great gun to shoot.
