Is there a mold or source for cast bullets like these? I want to try some heavy and slow loads for my 38 Special.

I stole this picture off of Sixguns.com in an article about a 44 Special load.

Years ago when pin shooting, I used to buy 230GR .38 bullets from as I recall , the Butte Bullet company. I dont have any idea if they can still be had from anywhere, or if the Butte bullet co. is still around. Thats as close as I know of to what I think it is you are wanting.
They need to be loaded in .357 cases and fired in a .357 Mag revolver however as the lengh when loaded it too long for a .38 special.

Even Lee makes a mold like that for 38's. I have it and one in 45, but I haven't shot the 38's yet. I have 3000 or so casted and ready, but time isn't on my side lately...

.38 bullets

It is interesting that the bullets look like 200 grains and that the top casing has a split in it.

I have 160 gr bevel base 4 cavity Keith nose molds and hundreds of pounds of the unlubed bullets from when I retired and sold my automated luber.

The 200 grain bullets were not used by any of my officers and I heard they were used for shooting bowling pins after I retired.
