Just got back from the range where I shot my first 150 38 Super reloads.
While these old eyes ain't what they used to be I was very happy with the results from my new Dan Wesson.
124 grain extreme flat points were loaded to a 1.200 O/L.
124 grain Hornady XTP's were loaded to a 1.210 O/L.
147 grain Hornady XTP's were loaded to a 1.250 O/L.
All rounds functioned perfectly except for 1 failure to go into battery with the 147 grain bullets.

Great shooting !

If you'll color the X ring in with a black marking pen, I think your groups will shrink still further. The human eye simply needs a small, well defined aim point to perform well in target shooting.

Sometimes I think it is easier to hit the center of a large target than it is to hit a small target.
I would certainly expect to do better with more contrast than a green sight on a green target.

Back in the day I could shoot groups like that at 25 yards. Now seeing the target at 25 yards is an eye strain. :(
That's why I'm so pleased with 30 ft. groups. Rained like heck around here last weekend so I had to do my shooting at an indoor range.
Hopefully next weekend I can get outdoors and chronograph my loads. Don't know if blackening the x ring would help. Kinda think not drinking 8 cups of coffee before going to the range might do wonders for shrinking those groups. :D

People can see 25 yards?:)
At 25 yards paper targets look like critters to me since they are fuzzy.
If I had sharp sights and sharp targets that would take the challenge out of it.......
With the red front a black target might give you more contrast.
And as much as I hate to admit it other than getting going to the range the coffee does not help at all once I get there.
