sounds like nothing some meth or cocaine couldn't alleviate for a few hours. even 20 mg of perc. better stick to bigger calibers.
The .380 is popular because it is easy to carry and easy to conceal. Most .380 SD platforms also fit even the smallest of legal aged hands and are easily controlled when shot. It also is a caliber and platform that does not generally intimidate even the less experienced shooters. Better to have it than nuttin' at all or something one can't handle. Most of the time when a .380 fails, it is not the round or the platform fault, but the fault of the shooter.
Look up the Coates/Blackburn LEO shooting.
Blackburn (purp) absorbed five .357 magnum Silver Tips center mass (no vitals hit though). Still alive and well today in prison.
Coates (LEO) took a single .22 round from Blackburn's mini revolver. Went up under his vest and into his aorta. Dead in seconds.
Shot placement is EVERYTHING kids.
Researching ammo for my pocket gun and ran across this review on Federal's website, took a screenshot of it.. Brilliant! I'd love to hear how he managed this.

Here is the deal. In Kansas anyth8ng center fire is legal for deer. A 380 out of a rifle carbine will not drt a deer unless it's a head shot.
I have seen 45 acp do this to deer along with 45 colt at ruger only loads. Tried a 9mm it didn't stack up to the bigger calibers, no matter what they say. I'd like to think that inside 25 feet double 00 buck would drt just about anything remotely close. I assure you the double 00 buck was what happen in that review instead of .380 he wouldn't of been able to make a review.Neither will a 45acp or 00 buckshot.
I have to be honest, the only DRT shot I've seen in person on deer that didn't involve a brain or spine shot was with a 300 mag from about 15 feet out of blind. heck, my buddy put a hole right through a deer's heart with a lever 45-70 a few years ago, and the thing still ran about 100 feet before it took a nap.
While a 9mm center mass with good expansion is going to cause someone to bleed out faster than a 380, it's still not going to turn their lights out like a switch in most scenarios without multiple shots. There are tons of videos out there that demonstrate this.
