I keep saying this, but I wish someone would produce a hard-cast, heavy wadcutter in +P.

Steve

Steve: take the new Buffalo Bore 158+P and epoxy the hollow. Net effects between that and a hardcast will be close to identical.

Jim,

Isn't the Buffalo Bore a semi-wadcutter? I'd like a full wadcutter. And hard cast. And +P...

Steve

Right now, I have these in my S&W 340PD loaded to +P velocity:

Gotta love Jim Cirillo, too. Man, I couldn't believe how much they wanted for a box of those bullets , though, and then shipping on top of it (assuming the price hasn't come down since I looked into them a while back).

Hmmm...interesting. I'm surprised at those velocity figures. I always thought that Federal's Personal Defense loads were designed to be rather mild-mannered. In contrast, Winchester's Personal Defense ammo is supposed to be fairly hot.

No, the 130-grain .357s are loaded to move out of short barrels right quickly. I'm actually surprised the Federals chrono'd that low out of the 1 7/8" bbl - they are frequently chrono'd at over 1300 fps out of 3" tubes.
