i just traded a 7400 243 today for a 39a original golden microgrooved. and i love the gun i looked up the s numbers and it was made in 1980, the gun shoots very well and everything works greats the action is really smooth. the gun is prolly 85% and mechanical its 100% ive owned alot of 22's over the years and this one i like by far the best so far. does anyone know the value of this gun?. and also i think im gonna take it to my gun smith and have it reblued and the wood redone. even though it's not in to bad of shap. but being its such a nice shooting and well mad gun i think im going to give it a make over. for the one simple fact that the new ones have the slide bolt safty that i do not like i think that ruined the new marlin rifles.
