So bought a Ruger 22/45 MKIII back in July - the better model with rubber replaceable grips, etc. I kept getting double feeds. Stripped it down, cleaned, lubed, etc. No joy. Oh and both mags would bind. Was able to fix one mag, but not the other. The issue was it would not eject some spent shells so the empty casing would get jammed against the ejector as the next tried to load. two cannot fit in one space. I even tried the online fix of removing the loaded chamber indicator. Nope.

Finally after seeing it was not a break-in issue, not a cleaning issue, I sent it to Ruger. They paid postage, etc. Got it back a week later with about 10 things done. Was so excited to test it. That was short lived.

After the first two mags, it was stovepiping (different than the first issue) two or three time per 10 round mag. Uggg.

sent it back to Ruger again...Should have it back Tuesday.

So hopefully, 3rd times a charm. At this point, wish I had never bought it.

Yeah...

My bro-in-law has an MKII (prompted me to buy a Ruger) that is flawless. Figures I go for the new improved and it is a lemon...sigh

Ruger's initial quality has dropped off a lot. Don't worry, you'll get your pistol working right eventually, just be patient.

I use 500 rounds of high-velocity ammo to 'break in' a new MKIII. Seems to help it out.
