Most red dot sights don't work for me so I was excited a couple years back when I got a Vortex Spitfire prism one. It was nice and clear with the illumination off and even when I turned it on, my astigmatism didn't make it hell.

I've got a new 10/22 I'm wanting to put something on. I was leaning towards a Leupold 2.5x or 4x fixed power. Then that old Vortex got me thinking. I don't want to use that one as it's got no magnification but their 3x version might just fit the bill. The only problem is it's got that reticle with all the BDC stuff.

Does anyone make a prism sight with a nice no frills reticle?

No. Apparently all people want are busy distracting reticles. The bushnell lil p was a 1x that wasn't TOO bad. One of the burris reticles was ok.

I too have astigmatism pretty bad, and I've had decent luck with the burris fast fire iii, but I put a scope on my 10/22. A 2-7 leupold, but their fxii 2.5x20 works wonderfully on my Marlin lever gun. I'm tempted to replace most of my red dots and carbine scopes with them. It's lightweight, small for a scope, and a nice simple reticle.

I think you're right. People these days seem to like all the stuff they see in video games and think it's neat to have all kinds of things they probably won't use or know how to use.

Cabelas apparently has some of the old style Vortex Spitfire 3x models with the knobs rather than the buttons. The reticles on those are busy but not as bad as some I've seen.

Still I think if they did a run of 3x with the old circle with a dot in the middle reticle like on the 1x they'd be surprised how many people were interested.

I ended up putting the Leupold 2.5x20 FXII on there for now. Or tried to. My receiver is on its way back to Ruger because one of the scope mount holes is stripped out.

I'll have to look at it but I don't believe so. I have a Bushnell prism on my AK that has a riser but it's only a 1x.
