I took a chance, spent the money, and had a custom mold made for REAL bullets in 40 cal. Tried them out in my Seneca which has a Rayl rebored barrel in 40 cal with round groove rifling. Using 60 grains of FFFg, being a light weight rifle, it smacks me pretty well, leaving bruises on both my shoulder and cheek. LOP is a little short for me which also contributed. After a few shots adjusting the sights, I got a shot in where I wanted to be and then fired 2 more for group before I gave my body a break and went to pistol shooting. I am very pleased with the performance of these bullets.

That's looks like a nice custom bullet mold that you had made up.
How tight do they fit into the bore when loading, are they hard to ram or to get started into the muzzle at all?

It would be nice if someone offered a .40 caliber revolver even if it were just for shooting round balls. It would fill a niche in between the .36 and .44 revolvers.
Are you eventually going to try shooting those .40 REAL bullets in a single shot pistol?

The bands on the bullet are graduated so you can start the first couple with your thumb. A stronger thumb can probably seat them all. Once you have the rifling engraved on the bullet (within a couple inches of the muzzle), it seats very easily, including in a fouled barrel. I don't have a 40 cal pistol but may think about it now. Had not occurred to me.
