I hope this is the correct forum. Can anybody tell me the difference between Winchester 40 cal SXT 180 gr. and Winchester Ranger Talon 180gr. The only thing I came up with is the package amount 20 vs: 50.
Go to the Winchester website and download the product catalog, then look at the ammo section and study the fired/expanded bullet pictures. The Supreme SXT does not have the pointy talons that the Ranger T-series has. The T-series Ranger is the evolution of the original Black Talon line, now without the black lubricant coating.
Here was a thread on SiGforum where we discussed it in detail
Old post, I know, but I'm having this very same question in 9mm form. The link to the Sig forum isn't working, but I'd definately like a solid answer as to what the differences between the SXT and Ranger-T ammo is. Also, which has better consistency in performance??
Very nice tests. I ask this question because I've seen instances where the SXT ammo failed to expand reliably if at all, yet I've heard nothing but praise for the Ranger-T, which led me to wonder how different are they???
