No complaints on my M&P .40 its a sweet gun at a good price. By the way GGLASS how did you get the white color on your M&P that looks really sweet.

XD 40S&W Subcompact, I love it it handles well and is very accurate. I think the .40S&W is a great round.

Plus, the ammo is a little easier to find than 9mm or .45. Not much easier, but I've been able to pick up boxes here and there, including JHP, in places that were out of almost everything else.

The Glock 23 in .40 S&W was my very first handgun. The snappy .40 recoil out of that lightweight polymer pistol made learning to shoot handguns interesting. It really made me focus on getting down the basics (and the 200 round a week habit meant I was getting lots of practice.)

Later on, I found the .45 ACP to be rather gentle, in comparison, and the 9mm to have no recoil to speak of. These days, though, I shoot heavy .45 Colt, and find the recoil of the .44 Magnum to be refreshing. However, I place all blame for my gun collecting on that .40 caliber Glock.

But, I still have the Glock 23. I've got a CCW rig, lots of spare mags, and night sights for it. I've also gone through a couple of recoil springs.

It is done with Lacquer sticks that are made for just this kind of work... NOT CRAYOLA! (That hurts Mr. Trooper)

If you are going to do this with your firearm, you have to remember to leave it alone for a few days to fully cure... It will smudge if you rush things.

It is a semi-permanent procedure. The Lacquer will stay put forever unless you remove it with mineral spirits or fingernail polish.

You can purchase Lacquer sticks from Brownells or here: http://www.micro-tools.com/store/item_detail.aspx?ItemCode=L51120
