Hi guys, does anyone know if there is any company that makes a 40 S&W barrel that will work in the frame of a 1006 10mm. I love this gun but rounds are hard to get for it and my Reload press is at my Father-in-laws.:banghead: so I can't reload right now. I am stuck out here in Commie Land :cuss: (California) for about 6 Months. I have wanted a 40 S&W barrel anyway. any help would be great. I called the factory custom shop but they wouldn't do it.

Check with Bar-Sto. If they'll do it, it might be a bit expensive ($180-$200). For a while, I believe, McNett at Double Tap was selling Bar-Sto barrels for the S&W 1006 in 9x25 Dillon, which is a 10mm case necked down to .355cal/9mm, so a .40 tube for the 1006 should be do-able.

Just FYI, but with Bar-Sto I've found that their barrels are not truly the "drop-in" kind. You or your 'smith will need to do a bit of fitting of the barrel to the slide, carefully and slowly, with a handfile. Presumably this extra tightness enhances accuracy.
