40 S&W diameter

Have been reloading Berry's copper plated 165 gr. bullets at .401 diameter. My local dealer has a good supply and price on lead RN , 165 gr. 40's at .400 di. Will I have to make much of an adjustment on my expander die ?

Lead should be slightly oversized, about 1/1000th for better fit.

You may or may not have to adjust the expander die depending on where you have it set now. I also agree that the LRNs are undersized.

Undersized lead is not good. It might not seal properly.and could cause severe leading. Maybe the reason they are cheap is the fact they are undersjzed. I once used .451 cast lead in my 45ACP & had severe leading. I went to .452 and never had the problem again.:banghead:
