40 vs 45 Recoil?

I agree with tincanhunter, the perceived recoil depends on the platform. I have had a Glock 23 and 27, as much as I like the guns, I really prefer the recoil of my Glock 36. It is just more pleasant to shoot, I prefer the push to the snap. ---BUT--- in my SIG 226, which is a .40, I can shoot it all day and really enjoy it. The 226 is more balanced in it's weight and seems to absorb the .40 very well. Both are proven to have good stopping power, what platform do you intend to use though?
