40cal ???

It seemes to me that all the 40 cal ammo that I see is simular to a wad cutter or semi-wad cutter instead of a round nose except for hollow points. Does anybody have a reason why this is so?

I asked once and was told it has to do with bullet weights and overall length. You can't get the heavier weights with a ball profile and still fit in mags.
