Cool, rainy weather....perfect day to work up some loads. Today I'm working with the 165gr Gold dot 10mm bullet and Longshot. Should get some respectable velocity from this powder and the 4.9" 96a1 barrel. Does anyone else load this combo, and know the velocity range these bullets perform best in?

Longshot and 165 gr. Gold Dots is an excellent combination, it's my favorite self defense load for .40 cal..

Work it up, Longshot runs very well when taken up the table. I won't comment openly here as to the specific load I run, but it is worked up to near max..

Also a great full tilt powder for 9mm and 38 spcl. (+p).

LongShot... my favorite powder. Very versatile, lots of load opportunities in different calibers, clean, good to great performance.
One of the finest for 10mm!

Did you find LongShot locally?

I've had good results with Longshot and 165gr JHP Montana Gold. I expect it to do well with the 165 Gold dot as well. I have had a few pounds of Longshot that were bought locally about a year ago. Haven't found d powder locally in a while, but haven't looked in a few months either. Need to re-up on primers after I run through the last 1k I have.

I saw it at a hardware store out by Houghton Rd and I-10. I can't remember the name of the store though, but if you Google reloading / Tucson it should come up. They had quite a bit, I bought some, and from the looks of it, it had been on the shelf for a while. It was dusty, as in the powder being having red dusty appearance. It shot ok, but you could tell it was getting past it's prime, smelled kind of off.

I haven't loaded 9mm and have wondered how it does in that caliber. Thanks for the knowledge.
