.41 Mag Missouri Outlaw Bullets

So I have this 500ct box of 225gr RNFP Outlaw Missouri Bullets for my .41 mag. But I can't find any real published information for 225gr bullets anywhere, none of my manuals have any, and either does the Hodgdon reloading center. I've done some searching and found a few but I'm rather reluctant about non-published sources. What's the best load data I can substitue for these? These will only be mild plinkers, so I don't need any max loads (but it's a Redhawk, so I'm not worried about pushing it a little). I have a bunch of different powders to choose from: Universal, Unique, Trailboss, Longshot, Blue Dot, Red Dot, W231, 800-X, WST, WSF, and Power Pistol.

I realize I can continue searching for the answer, but it's getting late, and I felt a thread on the matter might be useful to other .41mag reloaders with the same question (As there isn't a thread for it anywhere).

I use mostly Unique so I would take the starting load for a 215 grain swc back down a grain and start working back up

Other than there, you might give Missouri Bullets a shout and see where they point you.

Sorry dude...I checked my manuals...even the Loadbook (bunch of manufacturers all listed in one book) and found nothing for the 225. Everything i have jumps from 220 grain up to 240 or 245.

When that happens to me, I take a load from the next heavier bullet in my manual and work up from there.

If you have 220gr data, use it. 5gr is a negligible difference, like the lube on the bullet. If it makes you feel safer drop it by .2gr.

That is a rather odd weight for a .41 bullet and all of the manuals only cover the more common bullets. I have seen data for these on the web but not in any manual. Keep looking, it's out there. Data for a 215 gr. bullet is as close as you'll probably see in a manual, just reduce it a little. If they are just for plinking reduce by 2 gr. of powder and see what you get. Of the powders you listed I would try Unique, Red Dot, and WST. (which happen to be my 3 favorite powders for plinking loads)

Well shucks sorry bout that but looks like Hondo nailed it down.

Like someone else mentioned about using the next heavier bullet or closest weight bullet, with cast your not going to generate as much pressure as you do with jacketed so there is a bit more leeway with regard to the loads, depending on the particular powder of course.
