A few years ago I picked up a .41 Mag Redhawk with a 7 1/2" barrel and a 2x Simmons scope. The rear sight blade was removed to fit the scope hight. The scope now needs replacing and rather than do that I'm considering getting the barrel shortened. I could send it back to Ruger to have them put a 5 1/2" barrel on with new front and rear sights or take it to my gunsmith and have him shorten the barrel to 4" and do the sight work. Any thoughts will be appreciated.
