I picked up two partial boxes of these for $3 a box (turned out to be 50 in each box).

I'm looking forward to trying these out. It's a shame that they're some of the more expensive .410 jacketed bullets at Midway though.

3 bucks a box? Where was I?:(

Try them over a stiff charge of blue dot with a good crimp, you'll like it.:D

In fact check out my thread titled "one more 41 mag test results". Be careful though, that load is pretty stiff.

Then you might hate that I got these for $5 a box (full boxes)

Not having gun money, yet still liking to go to the gun shows means that I spend less time looking at the guns and more time looking at the other stuff, hoping for a bargain.

Be careful though, that load is pretty stiff

A little stiff, I've used 1.8grs less of Blue Dot with the 210gr XTP before and that was a touch stout for all day long shooting.

If you go up to my load, and it works as well in your gun as mine, you just need a good pair of gloves. I've found Cabelas "house brand" gloves to be exellent. I also love houge mono-grips on anything except my GP100s and SRHs, they run the factory ones.

Believe me, I didn't just jump to these preferences quickly. I've spent the last couple years devoted to shooting heavy to ragged edge magnum loads in my rugers. I've found the above to work the best for long sessions with heavy loads. A few times I've felt like I was coming home from a fight instead of a shooting session.

BTW: There's easily more room for higher velocity in that load if I want it, but any faster and the slug will grenade instead of punch.:D

H110

May I suggest trying H110 over large magnum pistol primers.
I have shot this bullet since 1970 and have good success.
Boy. did you get a buy, too bad 1,000 were available.
Hodgon's #21 dated 1970 `shows 18.0 gr to 20.0 gr H110
Speer #9 dated 1974 shows 18.0 to 20 grs H110
Speer #8 dated 1970 shows 19.0 t0 21 grs H110
all over lg pistol Magnum primers and 210 gr Speer HP bullet.
The 220 gr Speer SP shows a decrease of 1.0 gr in each case.
I think of Speer #8 as the heavy load in all Calibers and bullet I have tried.
I have not experienced disffcultys in any of their loads but as always start low and work up being careful at all times and stop and reduce if excess pressure is noted. These are quotes from my manuals and andare not to be
considered as anything else.
Good luck and be careful.
