S&W ... I dont know if Ruger still offers them. Look at the S&W 657. You could look around for an old Model 57 if you want old school quality, or the collectible Model 58 4" fixed sight service version. Be prepared for expensive ammo unless you reload.

I have a 4" Model 57 that I have owned for years. I had the action worked on a number of years ago. It is still one of my favorites in the safe. I don't shoot it as often as I used to, but it is deadly accurate. This one will never be for sale.

Smith is producing the 57 in its "Classic" series, expensive, but should be a good shooter. Taurus makes 41 Mags, some used Rugers, Smiths and Contender barrels show up every once in a while. Marlin did some Model 1894 Carbines in 41, also.

I really like SAs so another vote here for the Blackhawk. I bought one in .41 mag (used) a couple years ago and it's very accurate and easy to handle.

I don't have a 41 but everything I have read and heard is that the 41 is the optimal caliber and can do everything the 44 and 357 can do. I don't know this from experience but the group here at THR often say how awesome the 41 is. I would go with the Blackhawk. Strong as a tank.

One of the first run of Ruger Bisley's with fluted cylinders will be my first choice when I finally take the .41 plunge. These turn up on occasion and I still lament the one I didn't grab at $400. I nice older S&W model 57 would also be a good one.

Now that is one sweet flat top Ruger limited! The .41 Blackhawks are very accurate, I have found them a bit more accurate than the .44 mag, and the .45Colt models. I had one bought brand new in the old yellow and black box bought back in the late 80s, the 71/2 barrel. It was very accurate. Like a big fool I traded it off(try not to trade off proven accurate guns that you have): that or a model 57 Smith are about the only guns I would like to get today, but in a 45/8s barrel for the Ruger and 6 inch for the Smith. Yes I would like a Ruger flat top. I prefer the .41 magnum over the .44, but I live on the east coast, where a .44 is not really needed in its upper power loadings. The .41 will certainly do its job on pigs, deer,turkey,raccoon,opossum,fox, or any of the other eastern woodland animals. You just have to love the accuracy of the .41 magnum, I hand load a 210 grain Keith SWC over Unique and 2400. Yes that is slow loading on a single stage press, I know, and there are better metering powders no doubt, but Unique and 2400 do the job 100% with properly hard cast Keith style bullets in the .41 Mag.
Hey Craig, I found one of those rare fluted .41 Bisleys back in 94. Some guy walked up to our table and wanted to work out a trade for a Desert Eagle we had been lugging around the show circuit. Had a brown paper shopping bag with 3 NIB Ruger Bisleys, the .41, a .32 H&R and a .44 Mag. My boss cut him a deal (he REALLY wanted that Desert Eagle) and I bought the .41 Bisley from my boss. It has become my all time favorite Ruger SA. 2 lb. trigger with zero creep and a carefully fitted Belt Mountain base pin. The recoil with HEAVY loads is a joy and it will ring my steel ram @ 300 meters all day long. One that I will never part with. If you find one pay the man and run fast.

Yep, I've always regretted not buying that one. Although I had a fair reason not to as it had scratches around the trigger/bolt pin because whatever dummy owned it before tried pushing it out without disengaging the latch spring first. Hindsight, I should've grabbed it and touched it up with cold blue and later had it refinished and fitted with better sights. Alas, I already had a custom .44 Bisley and money was tight so I passed. One day.....
I did get me a little drift-adjustable .32H&R Bisley Single Six though, for a good price.

Smith & Wesson did a run of Mountain Guns in 41mag a few years ago, they are ajoy to shoot, I recently picked up a Black hawk,in 41 mag for about $500. at Sportsman's Warehouse, that is readily available, and also a great shooter.

ruger DA 41 MAGNUMS are now collector items,still make the blackhawk in 41 of course the S&W model 57 is the king.
