Has anyone noticed that the rear sight on the Mossberg .410 24" barrel is very flimsy? I took mine out and test fired some slugs thru it recently, and noted that at 35 yards that it was printing them all over the place.
It was at this time I noticed the rear sight was moving upon recoil, ( horizontally), well after trying to adjust the rear sight in order to make it more stationary I popped the rear rivet and the rear sight was really flopping around.
Needless to say, after getting the gun home, I drilled out the front rivet, and drilled and tapped the two rivet holes to 4-40, and replaced the rear sight and "voila" the rear sight now stays stationary. Further the gun will put 3 slugs into 1.5" group at 35 yards.
Thought I'd post this just in case someone else has had this problem.
