I am interested in the Highviz sights that they say will fit on a Mossberg. Not the ghost ring, but the "standard" sights. Specifically the 4 in 1 shotgun sights for shotguns with ribs.

If you have experience with these can you answer these questions?

1. Do you need to drill and tap for the front sight on a mossberg 500a? The video showed them putting in two screws, but there is only one hole so I assume this is a yes.

2. Do the rear sights maintain zero (windage) when firing slugs?

3. How secure do the rear sights attach? It appears to be a compression fit, but I couldn't tell for sure. Do the sights work themselves loose after 50 rounds or so?

4. Do you find the sights an acceptable replacement to the dual bead setup?

Thanks in advance.

I put the truglo turkey sites on my 535. They mount with side screws like a scope. Very secure but a drop of locktight wouldn't hurt.

They only use one screw to attach. The screws are included, regular replacement for Mossburgs, but some Remingtons are press fit and need to be tapped. Instructions say to use thread locker. They also have a version that in magnetic, and fits over the rib. I have not tried the magnetic style, but I would not trust them getting popped off with recoil or brush in the field. I could be wrong. I guess I should try the magnetic ones myself since I am a HiViz dealer.

They are not what I would consider "combat" durability, but are good for the price, and very easy to see in low-light situations, such as HD.

Some have interchangable light-pipes, but I just generally use a red front pipe. Green is also available. Just personal preference.

Marbles and TruGlo offer similar sights, but I have no experience with these.

I have the snap on version for plain barrels. Nice sight...very bright and easy on/off installation. It seems to be very secure even after a few boxes of 3" 00 buck.
