Evening and a Happy new year, I took a Sauer .44mag Western Marshall cowboy gun out today, had two boxes of .44 and one box of Remington 180g 44 mag., shot well with both, question is in reloading the brass. Is there any difference in the .44 special and .44 mag brass? They appear to be the same length and the only visible difference I can see is the .44 mag marking on the case. Thanks

I dont understand your question. 44 special and 44mag ARE different length. It is like 38 and 357. Do the one's say "special" or just "44". Unless it says "special" it is most likely mag brass. Some companies dont write the "mag" on the brass. Special isnt very common in factory ammo either. There is no real difference except the length between the 2. I made special brass out of mag for a while. It was a pain though. Just load each to their own seperate data and lengths and you will be fine.
