Are .44 cal tracer bullets available anywhere? I'm not looking for loaded ammo, just the bullets for reloading a few. I know 45acp exists but I have never heard of any 44 tracers.

Perhaps because .44s were never used by the military? I haven't seen tracers except in military calibers, so I doubt you would find them in .270 or .375 either.

What exactly are the negative effects of the tracers? Corrosion? I assume some corrosive oxides are left depending upon the chlorates used in the mix, but I assumed they would have little time to attack if you clean the barrel afterwards, or even follow up with a lead bullet.

There was a company called Clafton, or Klafton, in Northern Indiana that sold a lot of different tracer rounds. Try a search.

hi tech carries some tracers for 40 and 45, they might be able to get 44s as a special order. Chief7700 was referring to the risk tracers can have of starting fires- use caution as they burn very hot and can most definately start them.
also many ranges don't allow them, but like anything in our shooting hobby proper safety measures prevent the vast majority of accidents.

i use tracers in my 223 rounds. never a fire, however i see chief is from Ca, I am from upstate NY, we don't exactly have fire watches in a place that averages over 150 inches of snow every year. :)
