I was given a box of acme coated 200 gr rnfp and need some advise on a powder to use for mild/mid loads , my kid and I are going to be shooting paper with these only, I just ran out of unique but also curious about blue dot and 2400 for this purpose. My lgs has a fairly good stock of alliant powders , also I dont have much data for the 200 gr rnfp ? This is the closest I have for 200 gr rnfp , any advise would be helpful ,
Thanks

Trailboss is good stuff, I have used it for 308 rifle and 357 revolver I may pick some up,
Also Curious about blue dot and 2400 in light/mid loads

id get some more unique ans do 8 to 10 gr with 7 gr thats a 1000 rounds for one pound. trail boss 5 to 8 gr it depends on the gun they are shot out of 20 gr in a marlin is nice with 200gr maybe to much from a pistol for a kid. u can reduces 2400 some id stay over 16 gr. try some different loads to see what the gun likes.

I’m a Unique guy.

Tons of data from mild to moderate loads for Unique can be found that will allow you both to enjoy a lot of shooting with your .44.

Stay safe!

I use 200 grain LRN quite a bit in 44Mag and Spl.

In the Mag I use 7.5 grains Universal powder, for a very smooth, easy shooting paper puncher. My 115lb wife loves them in a Taurus M44. I never have run them over a chrono, but I suspect 800-850 fps.

Universal and Unique are very close in burn rate and density, and in my experience the loading data is interchangeable, at least at less than max loading.

I've never attempted to load 200 grains at max velocity in a 44 Mag, so I can't help you with that.
