Anyone have a swell idea for mounting a scope on a Ruger Redhawk that does not have the proprietary Ruger mounting system incorporated into the barrel?

Ruger charges about $75 to install a new barrel, then you have to by the mounts, and pay for all the shipping on the gun.

There has to be a better method. The only system I could find that looked good was: http://www.jackweigand.com/Ruger-Redhawk-Scope-Mounts-No-Drill.html

Anybody used this mount? Is is any good?

Trying to turn my Redhawk into a deer killin machine.

That looks like a very solid mount, I would have no second thoughts about ordering one, Weigand makes a nice product.
I have the 7.5" with the Ruger mounting system, works well even though I prefer it without a scope.

I have an older Redhawk without the barrel relief cuts and use a Leupold frame mount which I really like.
