I'm not really into revolvers after buying a Rossi .357 mag snub-nose. The thing would only fire if you pulled the trigger very, very slowly. Rapid fire was totally impossible, because the firing pin would strike the rim instead of the primer  !!! I have been thinking of buying a Taurus Tracker in .44 mag and was wondering if it is a durable, and dependable gun. Anyone had any experience with them. It may be the one to make me forget about my first " paper weight" :barf: !!!

Hi ! If you do a site search in handgun revolvers you may find some back comments regarding the Taurus that will be informative.

I bought one about a year ago and have had no problems , and no bad experiences with it. I was impressed as a matter of fact on how smooth this gun was out of the box and so far it's performace ,including accuracy, has been very acceptable to me.
I do shoot mostly .44 Spl ammo from it and see no reason to use .44 Mag for plinking.

Since this is a medium frame (K-L) gun the recoil is a little stout with .44 Mag loadings, but certainly managable. I give mine a thumbs up .

Edit : PS : It sounds like the cylinder is running behond the cylinder stop on your Rossi. This could be as simple as a broken cylinder stop spring , and to repair should not be a big deal.

Its a neat gun

Pretty fun to shoot. I did have one problem with mine, the cylinder pin became jammed in after the first 25 rounds, and the cylinder wouldn't latch shut. The factory fixed it though and no problems since then.
Edit to add that Taurus also threw in a trigger job when they fixed it.
